Big Fish General Manager Provides Report to the Membership

To the Membership,

I am honored to introduce myself as the new General Manager of Big Fish Golf Club. Since coming on board on Decem ber 7, my primary focus has been on fostering teamwork among our staff and ensuring that hospitality and customer service remain our number one priority. With that in mind, we have embraced a new slogan: Come to Big Fish with a smile, leave with a smile—regardless of your scorecard. I am proud to report that our team is working closely together to make Big Fish a tremendous success. The energy and enthusiasm among our employees are off the charts, and this positive environment is being passed along to our valued guests.

Membership & Rounds of Golf

Big Fish is on pace for its biggest year yet. Thanks to an aggressive marketing strategy combining digital campaigns with traditional print media, we have surpassed our previous membership records. Last year, we experienced a decline of over 100 members from the previous season, but I am pleased to announce that we have regained that number, bringing our total to over 250 members.

Last year, total rounds of golf decreased from 27,000 in 2023 to 21,000 in 2024. However, our current projections indicate that we will break the 30,000-round mark—a milestone that has never been achieved at Big Fish.

Food & Beverage Operations

Our food service operations are also poised for a record-setting year. We have expanded our menu to include dinners, more burgers, and specialty sandwiches, with increased sales expected to grow even further as summer approaches.

Currently, Big Fish operates two full-service kitchens: Dye Hards and Mulligan’s Pub.

Additionally, we will be introducing two food stands at the halfway points on the front and back nine, offering quick and convenient options such as pizza by the slice, hot dogs, burgers, and full beverage service. Our beverage cart service remains available, and an exciting new addition this year is our fleet of digital screen-equipped golf carts, allowing golfers to place food and beverage orders directly from their carts. Using the built-in GPS system, we will deliver these orders directly to their location on the course.

Another significant development is our newly purchased 28-foot food truck, branded with the Dye Hards and Big Fish logos. This truck will primarily be stationed at the Tribe’s lot in front of the Hayward Fishing Hall of Fame and will also make appearances at various events throughout the summer. This initiative will not only promote our golf course but also expand our food service capabilities. Every food order from the truck will come with a coupon sheet promoting all of our tribal businesses, including Sevenwinds, The Landing, our gas stations, and the grocery store. Additionally, we will use the truck’s point-of-sale system to promote Big Fish and tribal events.

Events & Entertainment

We have been actively working on expanding and revitalizing our event calendar. Upon my arrival, it was evident that the event center was not being utilized to its full potential. Our team developed a plan to increase event programming, and as a result, we now host weekly bingo, poker nights, live country bands, comedians, and DJ entertainment. Our private event bookings have also seen an uptick.

Looking Ahead

There are many more exciting initiatives on the horizon. Big Fish is a world-class golf operation complemented by outstanding food service and a thriving event center. Our tribal membership should take great pride in being the owners of such a remarkable venue. I invite you all to stop in, check out our newly upgraded event center, order some great food of our newly expanded menu, hit the golf simulator and get ready for some summer fun.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to a fantastic year at Big Fish!

Sincerely,

Joe Morey
