College Covid Coordinator Says In Person Classes For Fall Semester Will Go Forward

Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for our faculty, staff, and students. We recognize that the threat from COVID-19 is not over and continues to affect our community in different ways, including how, when, and where many of us are able to work and learn. Knowing this, the College coordinates its decision-making with local and tribal health professionals and other various leaders confronting Covid challenges.


Looking forward, the College will be fully open for in-person instruction this coming Fall 2021 semester. However, there may be those of you including students, faculty, and support staff that are unable to be present in-person at the college due to underlying health conditions or other severe limitations. If you are a faculty or support staff employee and you cannot be here in person, you must have prior approval from your supervisor to be absent from the workstation. If you are a student and you cannot be here in person, you must have prior approval from your Advisor to be absent from your classes or learning remotely.


As of 8/23/21 all faculty is returning to campus and students begin classes on 8/30/21. Outreach sites are subject to reopen guidelines from their respective tribal leadership.

1. Masking is MANDATORY for Everyone, regardless of vaccination status to enter the building; 2. Staff & Faculty will continue to enter the College Campus through the Main doors or Door 421 3. Students and Guests shall enter the College campus through the Main doors; 4. Everyone must comply with the 6-foot social distancing rule indoors; 5. Everyone MUST check-in to enter the building; 6. Everyone MUST be temperature screened upon entering the building; 7. Everyone MUST answer the prescreening questions to enter the building; and 8. Everyone MUST wash their hands and use hand sanitizer frequently and as needed.


The College’s COVID-19 Coordinator Dawn Petit will continue to monitor compliance and provide updates and assistance throughout the semester.
