Derek Taylor Sworn In as Newest Conservation Warden

It’s officially official! Derek Taylor was sworn in today by Honorable Elaine Smith in Tribal Court. Game Warden Derek Taylor will be attending Chippewa Valley Technical College’s Criminal Justice Academy in January of 2022, welcome to LCO Conservation Warden Taylor!


Here’s a short bio of Warden Taylor:


“Boozhoo my name is Derek Taylor. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. I am an enrolled tribal member of the lac Courte Oreilles Indian reservation. I achieved my Associate’s Degree in Natural Resources from the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College in 2012. I was a wildland firefighter for the BIA from 2012-2015. I joined the United States Marine Corps in 2015 and I was honorably discharged in 2020. It is an honor to accept the position of LCO Conservation Game Warden.”
