Food Shelf Asks to Save Your Change in February

Hayward Community Food Shelf

Press Release

February is the month of Valentine’s Day and Love!  The Hayward Community Food Shelf asks you to "Show Us Some Love" and save your loose pocket change for HCFS.  You can get a can, cup, or jar and place your coins in it during the month of February.  At the end of the month, show some love and donate the change you saved to HCFS.

There is power in change!  All change - quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies - add up quickly.  Utilizing its buying power, with $10 HFCS can purchase: 1 bag coffee, 1 lb ground beef, 2 cans of vegetables, 1 jar of peanut butter, 2 cans of soup, 1 can of fruit and a box of macaroni and cheese.  Many $10 add up to a lot of love and your effort will make a big difference for those experiencing food insecurity in our communities.

Thanks for showing HCFS some love!
