A notice has been issued by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services stating that Wisconsin Foodshare recipients will receive their February benefit by January 20 due to the government shutdown. DHS says recipients will most likely receive the benefits on January 18, Friday, because the 20th falls on a Sunday on a holiday weekend.
The Income Maintenance Specialist for Lac Courte Oreilles, Melissa Kagigebi, is circulating the following DHS notice so recipients will be aware of the early benefits and to make sure they understand they will not receive a benefit payment in the month of February, so to prepare their food purchases accordingly to last them through the month.
