Head Start Program Closing Until April 6

Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) families, with the recent Covid-19 planning and preparation, the Office of Head Start has provided guidance regarding program closures. The LCO Head Start Program serves very young children who play in close proximity to one another. As precautionary measure, our Program will close Monday, March 16, 2020 until Monday, April 6, 2020. We will be providing food delivery and pickup for HS/EHS families on Friday, March 20, 2020. We will continue to provide further updates to families as they become available.

Dear Head Start Families,

We are writing to provide you with information about the Coronavirus and the Agency's efforts to ensure the health and safety of all children and staff in our buildings. It is normal to be concerned about a new virus, so we want to work with families to ensure that we are receiving updates on a daily basis regarding prevention and best practice.

The Lac Courte Oreilles Head Start / Early Head Start Program will continue to monitor updates about the Coronavirus from local, state, and federal agencies, and will keep families informed should recommendations change. It is important that as of this email, Prevention Measures:

  • Continue to practice frequent hand-washing throughout the day

  • Continue to follow the Head Start Policy regarding illness and communicable disease which states that children shall not attend classes when they have a fever, cough, or nasal congestion. It is critical that children stay home when ill and seek medical attention regarding any flu-like symptoms.

  • The school will continue "Cleaning and disinfection" of all surfaces within the Center
