Homeowner Assistance Fund Available to Assist Homeowners on the Reservation

The Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Governing Board approved the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) to assist tribal members living on the LCO reservation. Tribal members will need to fill out the HAF Homeowners Assistance Fund Application, Attestation of Financial Hardship and Authorization for Release of Information.


Background

On August 2, 2021, the U.S. Department of the Treasury will provide financial assistance in an aggregate amount of approximately $9.9 billon. According to the ARP, the HAF was established to mitigate financial hardships associated with the coronavirus pandemic by providing funds to eligible entities for the purpose of preventing homeowner mortgage delinquencies, defaults, foreclosures, loss of utilities or home energy services, and displacements of homeowners experiencing financial hardship after January 21, 2020, through qualified expenses related to mortgages and housing.

Eligibility

1. Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal member.

2. Home must be located within the Lac Courte Oreilles boundaries.

Applications

Completed applications should be turned in at the Tribal Office, Attention Kelly Nayquonabe.
