Over the past several weeks, the planning committee and Boards have discussed options and phases for the reopening of onsite programming. Due to the recent increase in cases throughout Sawyer County, and with the approval from parent representation, staff and Governing Board, we have delayed our start date for on-site classes until Monday, October 5, 2020. Details for families are outlined below:
Home Based Learning Option for returning and new students will begin on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. This will include continued connections to classroom teachers, literacy materials, books, continued nutrition/food packages, diaper/formula supplements, individualized learning materials for each child.
Phase #1 (Stop) – Onsite classes for returning students of HS/EHS will begin on October 5th. Returning children remain eligible. There will be lower numbers of children in classrooms during this phase of programming.
Phase #2 (Open with caution) – Slow transition of new students from the Home Based Learning Option, to Center Based classes. This will be based on criteria for those in most need of services.
Phase #3 (Go/Clear to fully open) – All new and returning students will have the option of attending classes onsite. The date will be determined by the current health data regarding cases of spread within the County. We will continue to provide updates to enrolled families.
**Please note that, we feel this is the safest option for our young children at Lac Courte Oreilles. We want to ensure safety for all enrolled children through a cautious, and careful transition back to Center Based classes.
Returning parents are being contacted regarding enrollment applications and health screening appointments. We will begin opening enrollment for new children over the next few weeks.
