Meth and Fentanyl Seized by LCO Police During Traffic Stop

On Monday, May 23, 2022, a Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department Investigator conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for displaying false registration. The Investigator requested K9 assistance. A K9 sniff of the vehicle was conducted indicating a positive alert for illegal drugs. A search of the female passenger resulted in locating a clear plastic gem bag with a brown powder substance. The substance was tested and indicated a positive test for fentanyl.


The passenger was placed into custody as was the female driver. A search of the vehicle showed further items of drug trafficking, but no drugs were located within the vehicle. Both females were transported to the Sawyer County Jail. Once at the Sawyer County Jail a body scan was conducted on the female passenger and an abnormality was shown within the female. A further search resulted in locating 26.3 grams of methamphetamine, an additional .9 grams of fentanyl, and items of drug paraphernalia.
