Ernie Stevens, Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association, stopped by the Boys and Girls Club of Lac Courte Oreilles to deliver a check in the amount of $1,500 as a personal donation to the club. Heather Peterson, Club Director, said Ernie is a Boys and Girls Club Alumni.
“Ernie has donated in the past and He has been such an amazing advocate for all clubs across Indian Country,” Peterson said. During a Club Trip last year, the kids visited Ernie at his office in Washington D.C. and Peterson stated they plan to visit again this June.

As for the use of the donation, “We are planning to use it towards additional hoops in the gym. It is unrestricted money. The additional hoops are going to cost $6200. It will be the start of that goal.”
Miigwech for your donation, Ernie, she concluded.
