Sawyer County Sheriff Doug Mrotek announced on January 19, 2019, award of a $51,546 County-Tribal Law Enforcement Grant received from the Wisconsin Department of Justice

Mrotek said the grant will be used for an additional Sheriff’s deputy to help patrol the Reservation area.

“These grants provide critical funding to help counties and tribes across the state provide a variety of law enforcement services to Native American communities,” said Josh Kaul, Wisconsin Attorney General. “The Department of Justice looks forward to working with you on meeting the law enforcement needs in your community.”

Kaul added in his award letter to Sheriff Mrotek, “We are pleased to support the law enforcement services you provide.”
