LCO Police Press Release By Interim Chief Brandon Sams
On Tuesday, Oct. 29, at approximately 10:44 P.M., Officers from the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department and the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department responded to a gun related incident in the Popple Town Community. While responding to the first call there was a second call in the same community about shots being fired at a residence. Fortunately, nobody was injured during these incidents. Officers arrived on scene and were able to determine the identities of the suspects involved in the incident.
As a result of the investigations a Nathon Conger (18), Thomas Boyer (21) and a 17-year-old male were arrested in connection with these incidents and booked in to the Sawyer County Jail with charges for endangering safety by reckless use of a firearm and party to a crime. All three suspects were arrested without injuries to the public, themselves, or law enforcement. These charges are merely an allegation and the suspects are innocent until proven guilty in court.
We would like to thank the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department and the Hayward Police Department for their assistance with the investigation and apprehension of the suspects. This incident will remain under investigation with the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department and the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department.
This is the wisdom I spent my thirties searching for! we become what we behold If only I could have learned it sooner!
