Tribal Election Candidate Policy for Advertising and Campaign Statement in Media Outlets

The Primary Election is set for May 10 and the General Election will be held June 21. There are 30 accepted candidates who accepted their nominations, but the Election Committee hasn’t released the final list yet. They will be vying for 4 open spots on the Tribal Governing Board. This is a notice to those candidates regarding access to LCO News Media outlets, which include the printed newspaper, digital newsletter and Facebook page.

All candidates will be allowed to write a 300-word campaign letter at no charge that will be printed in the May 1 printed newspaper edition. Letters will then be printed in the digital newsletter for May 3, and soon after on the Tribe’s Facebook page and official website www.lco-nsn and the tribe’s news site at www.lcotribe.com. Deadline for your campaign letter is Monday, April 28, at 9:00 am sharp.

Any other access will be on a paid-for basis. The rate will be standard for all candidates for a flyer-size advertisement at $100 and will appear in the printed newspaper, online newsletter and the Tribe's official Facebook Page for a one-time share.
