The new Miskogiizhig Apartments are now accepting applications and the deadline is the end of this upcoming week, Friday, October 6.

The newly established Tribal Housing Department, not to be confused with the LCO Housing Authority, is collecting pre-applications for rental and homeownership opportunities to ascertain the interest and needs of the tribal community for shelter opportunities.

Submitting the application will not guarantee housing selection; those who pass the screening will be invited to submit full applications with verifications for a specific type of housing that becomes available.

The available units include the new apartment building, the HIP homes, trespass homes, Covid homes and Norwood Haven.

The new apartments are being designated, by action of the LCO Tribal Governing Board, for any tribal members who can pay rent. You may qualify for Section 8. Sawyer County Section 8 would pay 30% of the rent for those who qualify based on their income limits. A rental rate per unit would be established as well to make the apartment qualify.
